Design FMEA for Aerospace Suppliers
FMEA is a mandatory requirement for many aerospace suppliers – providing a process for categorising failures in order to prioritise items of risk. This practical workshop will step delegates through a case study-based workshop – learning how to analyse the product functions in terms of risk, identify failure modes and effects, and understanding how to set priorities using the severity rating scale.
Coaching for Success
This course covers both the skills, and mindset for effective coaching. How to get the most out of it for yourself, and those you coach – and optimise outputs with skilful coaching.
Leading Teams Through Change
Change initiatives have a high rate of failure, either totally or in part. This is often due to the lack of understanding of the need to support individuals and teams through the process. This course provides a thorough understanding of how to introduce and support successful changes to systems, processes and procedures through involving and engaging all stakeholders and securing support from key stakeholders.
Leading Teams & Managing Performance
This course is focused on giving individuals new to leadership a clear understanding of the fundamental principles of creating & leading high performing teams.
Organising Yourself & Your Team
This practical course focuses on the fundamental principles of identifying and managing priorities both for themselves and their teams. Covering more than just traditional time management techniques this course gives delegates a deeper understanding and greater confidence in setting clear and achievable goals and supporting their delivery; resulting in improved achievement of business targets.
Team Leader’s Guide to HR Topics
This course is aimed at introducing managers so some of the potentially difficult conversations they may need to conduct with their teams. Traditionally these are areas that managers are reluctant to address often feeling underprepared and overwhelmed by the prospect of one-to-one conversations with staff members of these HR topics.
Zero Defects Leadership
This programme is focused on practical working and discussion to support the drive to Zero Defects in the design and manufacturing workplace and wider supply chain. The challenge of making sure that our processes are always ‘on target’ with ‘minimum variation’ is a key aspect of achieving our target of Zero Defects.
Process Control aligned with AS13100/RM13006
AS13006 sets the standard for implementing Process Control which allows effective management of variation to drive consistency in process outputs and enable continuous improvement. Aerospace suppliers are required to ensure that processes are target set and stable (i.e. in control) and assessed to check they are capable. This workshop introduces SPC as a key tool which can be used to achieve quality improvements by providing a structured approach to monitoring and improving process control.
Measurement System Analysis aligned with AS13100
Measurement Systems Analysis (MSA) is an experimental technique used in the workplace to support improvement by evaluating and determining how much error there is within a measurement system. The AS13100 standard stipulates the requirements to establish an acceptable measurement system for use on aerospace parts and assemblies. MSA is critical to ensuring process control and quality, and is an essential foundation for process improvement. This practical workshop demonstrates how to assess the performance of new and existing measurement systems and highlights how to introduce improvements when necessary.
Rapid Changeover Techniques
This one day course, suitable for team leaders, engineers, operators and continuous improvement practitioners, provides an easy to follow, structured approach to facilitating rapid changeover workshops. A step by step guide is provided for preparing for, facilitating and following through rapid improvement workshops.
Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
A common mistake when implementing business improvement is to improve individual parts of the process without understanding the big picture. VSM combats this by providing a structured approach to mapping the end to end value stream. This course trains delegates to use VSM to identify improvement opportunities & develop a plan which focuses on the areas of greatest benefit.
Root Cause Analysis
All too often problem solving teams fail to identify and address the real root cause of problems, resulting in issues recurring. This focused one day course introduces a practical, step-by-step guide to enable participants to take a more rigorous, data driven approach to root cause analysis.
Mapping Tools & Techniques
A core skill when implementing continuous improvement is to be able to map, analyse and improve the current state process. This one day module gives participants a highly practical introduction to the most commonly used process mapping tools. Delegates will leave the day with the confidence and ability to be able to lead process mapping and analysis activity for the purpose of continuous improvement.
Advanced Lean Practitioner
This 5-day programme focuses on developing highly skilled Improvement Practitioners who are equipped with the confidence and tools to lead significant process improvement, waste elimination, and value stream mapping activities.
Lean Foundations
This 1-day workshop provides an overview of the Lean approach & considers implementation strategies within Manufacturing, Design, Operations, & Office functions. The Lean building blocks will be reviewed (including 5S, Visual Management, Waste Elimination and the role of standards), enabling participants to understand how these techniques fit together, and to consider implementation within their organisations.
Lean Practitioner
Implementing Lean is a proven method to improve any business by adopting a culture of continuous improvement, waste elimination and process efficiency. Lean Practitioners are trained to lead and facilitate process improvement and problem solving activities within their local work area. This 3-day programme training will provide participants with the confidence and tools to lead practical Lean improvement activities in their companies.
Lean Leadership
Leadership engagement is an essential ingredient for ensuring a successful deployment of Lean, by providing guidance and support as the business progresses through the improvement journey. This 1-day interactive workshop is focused on building the knowledge and understanding to help managers to successfully deploy Lean across all areas of the business, both in Manufacturing and Support functions.
8D Strategy & Tactics
This course is designed to give Managers / Sponsors and those with responsibility for Problem Solving an overview of the 8D Principles, tools and techniques. It will enable participants to understand how to improve the use of 8D within their business and begin to plan the best approach in supporting Problem Resolution.
5S Facilitator
This 1-day workshop is focused on building the competence and capability to fulfil the 5S Facilitators role. In addition to focusing on the 5S and waste elimination processes, the training will include a specific focus on the set-up, implementation and review of the 5S roll-out.
Process Capability
This training workshop delivers tools that enable and ultimately provide an understanding of capability – how well the system performs, in terms of how comfortably the output results are within the limits of acceptability for that system.
